OREANDA-NEWS. Vale is a global company, so its employees have the opportunity to work alongside colleagues from different regions and countries. An example of this is the group of 60 apprentices who work for Vale in Malaysia that have been in Brazil since the end of May. They are taking part in a training program in the Maintenance and Operation areas at our company's Tubarao Complex in Vitoria, Espirito Santo.
The trainees organized an event in the last week of August to reveal some of the habits and characteristics of their country. During the presentation, they talked about the different regions of Malaysia, located in Southeast Asia, and discussed the country's predominant religions of Islam, Christianity and Hinduism. At the end of the presentation, everybody was given the opportunity to try some typical dishes, such as fried banana balls and corn flakes with honey.

In July, the construction of nine new facilities was concluded at our Teluk Rubiah distribution centre in Perak. The new site will meet the demand from the Asia-Pacific region's steel industry and extend our company's logistical capacity. The first shipment of iron ore to be sent to the new terminal from Brazil is expected to take place at the end of 2013.
