OREANDA-NEWS. On 16 October SCM is going to present the 3rd Ukrainian Energy Index (UEI) 2013 at the International Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Forum in Kiev.

“SCM takes consistent efforts to develop and support energy saving, encourages discussions, shares the latest practices with society and cooperates with NGOs. Ukrainian Energy Index, the annual national ranking of energy efficient regions of Ukraine, is one of the key initiatives in the area,” noted Natalia Yemchenko, SCM's Director of Public Relations and Communications. “It seeks to determine the energy efficiency of our country and its regions today, and our potential for improving energy efficiency.”

This year the Expert Board comprises

Nikolay Pashkevich, Chairman of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Conservation of Ukraine

Sergey Yermilov, Deputy Director, Institute for Environment and Energy Saving

Sergey Volkov, UNDP Senior Programme Manager for Energy and Environment

Dr Benedikt Thanner, Project Manager of Climate Change Mitigation Focus in Economic Development in Donetsk Region, GIZ

Olga Romanyuk, member of the National Commission of the State Public Utilities Regulation

Jurate Juodsnukyte, Sector Manager for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, EU Delegation to Ukraine

Gennady Temnik, Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Utilities of Ukraine.

“I'm pleased that Ukrainian Energy Index has become a systemwide event in energy efficiency research for the last three years. The ranking presents the indicators helping to determine our energy efficiency compared with other European economies. It's important that the results of the ranking are available for the general public,” commented Nikolay Pashkevich, Chairman of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Conservation of Ukraine.

The Index was compiled by BEST analytical centre with media support of Vlast Deneg weekly.
