OREANDA-NEWS. September 10, 2013. China Life has recently launched the first trial of micro insurance in Pingyang County of Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province.

The product aims to provide higher protection and wider range of coverage to urban migrant workers and at a lower cost. The protection plan covers three areas including accident injury, accident medical treatment and sudden death liability.

Every new urban resident is entitled to a maximum of RMB 100,000 of accident injury protection; RMB 20,000 of sudden death liability protection and RMB 2, 000 of accident medical treatment protection.

This project follows China Life’s previous trials of providing micro insurance services to the low - income people in Nantong, Jiangsu Province and Fangshan, Beijing.
