OREANDA-NEWS. September 10, 2013. The SORAINEN Latvian office invites Latvian University (LU) law students to apply between 1 September and 1 October for the office’s established and financially supported scholarship for the study year 2013/2014.

The purpose of the SORAINEN annual scholarship for students of the LU Faculty of Law is to support students during their studies in order to increase their interest in research work in their chosen field of study. The scholarship is designed for BA students (except first years) and MA students at the LU Faculty of Law. The scholarship is for LVL 2,000 (EUR 2,845.74) for the academic year.

The suggested research areas for this study year are:

Improving the efficiency of the Latvian judicial system and legal processes.

International civil procedures (with a third countries element).

Intellectual property rights in the digital environment.

Any topic on private international law.

To participate in the scholarship competition, applicants will have to complete the electronic questionnaire, in Latvian, at the website of the LU Foundation www.fonds.lv.

The scholarship’s commission has seven officials, including SORAINEN partner Agris Repss.
