Belagroprombank Improved its Position in Top 1000 World Banks – 2013
OREANDA-NEWS. September 10, 2013. JCS Belagroprombank improved its position in the Top 1000 World Banks – 2013 ranking published annually by authoritative financial magazine The Banker. The Bank was ranked 504 among 1000 largest world banks.
The Banker’s Top 1000 World Banks ranking is based on the Tier I capital. For the purpose of Top 1000 World Banks ranking The Banker uses the definition of Tier I capital set out by Basel’s Bank for International Settlement. According to the Banker calculation Belagroprombank’s Tier I capital as of the end of 2012 was 1,308 billion US dollars.
Strengthening of Belagroprombank’s position in Top 1000 World Banks ranking confirms that the Bank steadily develops its business and substantially determines the performance of the banking sector of Belarus. For the Bank’s customers it is good confirmation of its ability to provide financial support for large projects while for the Bank’s partners it is an additional incentive for the development of mutual cooperation.
At the same time JSC Belagroprombank improved its position in the ranking of Top 25 Central and Eastern Europe Banks where it was ranked 18.
The Banker is a specialized analytical magazine owned by The Financial Times. It has been published since 1926 and has ranked the world's largest banks since 1970. Its Top 1000 World Banks ranking can fairly be considered the "world recognized index of global banking institutions".
