OREANDA-NEWS. SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev met with a group of journalists representing Reuters, DPA and EUobserver information agencies, Эl Sole 24 Ore newspaper, as well as L’Espresso daily magazine.

The guests said they had background information on Azerbaijan as an ancient petroleum country, its close participation in the provision of Europe with natural gas, expressed gratitude for reception.
 Welcoming the guests, SOCAR President mentioned that the first production of industrial oil from the dug wells belongs to the ancient land of oil - Azerbaijan and spoke about important contribution of Azeri oil workers to the history of the world industry, regional and international projects of SOCAR, its achievements, diversified export pipelines system, as well as Azerbaijan’s role in energy security of Georgia, Turkey, and Europe. Touching upon the successful cooperative relations between SOCAR and world’s leading oil and gas companies, Mr. Abdullayev briefed on the latest investment programs abroad.

Afterwards, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev responded the questions regarding proven and predicted volume of hydrocarbon reserves, the importance of the Shah Deniz-2 project in the opening of the Southern Gas Corridor, the role of SOCAR and its partners in the implementation of the TAP pipeline, TANAP and STAR projects to be realized in Turkey, Company’s participation in upstream projects in Israel and other countries, as well as expansion of exploration works in Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, and other issues.
