Low-Cost Belgian Carrier Jetairfly Announces Miami-Brussels Service
OREANDA-NEWS. Low-cost Belgian carrier Jetairfly today announced the April 2014 launch of non-stop service between Miami International Airport and Brussels, Belgium – the capital of the European Union. The new service will mark Jetairfly’s first U.S. route, Florida’s only non-stop connection to Brussels, and MIA’s 14th European destination.
With Boeing 767-300ER aircraft featuring Economy and Comfort service, Jetairfly will begin the new service on April 4, 2014 with flights on Mondays and Fridays. Bookings are scheduled to be available at the end of October 2013.
“The launch of Brussels service at MIA is part of our plan to add strategic new destinations to our international network,” said Miami-Dade Aviation Director Emilio T. Gonzбlez. “Brussels is one of the most influential tourism hubs in Europe and seat of the European Community government. We are extremely excited and honored that Jetairfly chose MIA as their first U.S. destination.”
International passenger traffic at MIA continues to grow in 2013, with an increase of four percent through July. Already this year, new routes have included the Caribbean destinations of Guadeloupe and Martinique in April by American Airlines and additional service for existing routes from Paris by new carrier XL Airways France in June and from Port au Prince by new carrier Haiti Aviation in July.
Additional new routes scheduled this year are: Oranjestad, Aruba by new carrier Aruba Airlines on September 15; Calgary by Canadian low-cost carrier WestJet in October; and Milan, Italy and the Brazilian destinations of Curitiba and Porto Alegre by American Airlines in November.
