OREANDA-NEWS. September 06, 2013. In line with an order of Agriculture Minister Vasile Bumacov, since now, to improve monitoring over quality of wine exported to Russia the wine must be certified by bodies in charge on the basis of protocols of the National Centre for Alcohol Quality Testing.

The State Alcohol Products Supervision Inspectorate is charged to carry out inspections at companies exporting alcoholic products and even to collect samples to ensure implementation of the order. Let’s remind that Rosptorebnadzor pointed out that a share of alcoholic beverages certified by the National Centre for Alcohol Quality Testing is extremely low among batches exported to Russia.

The Russian Agency stressed that the Agriculture Ministry of Moldova did not assume any measures to create a national quality control system, which was one of first and foremost conditions for reopening the market of Russia for the Moldovan alcoholic production. Later, Rospotrebnadzor was discontent with quality of Moldovan wine and warned it may be embargoed.

Since the beginning of 2013, Moldova exported to Russia 3,844 batches of alcohol at a total volume of 24 million 840 thousand 044.8 litres. As recent tests of the Russian agency show, as many as 4 batches at a volume of 28 thousand 432.5 litres fell short of safety standards.
