Tata Power Launches Club Enerji in Maharashtra
OREANDA-NEWS. Recognising the immense value that schools and schoolchildren generate in energy and resource conservation, Tata Power’s nationwide energy conservation movement - Club Enerji - has successfully launched this unique school outreach programme in Carmel Convent, in Khopoli, and Sinhgad Public School, in Lonavala, this year.
Tata Power’s Club Enerji programme had started with a sensitisation session on August 22, 2013, as the company believes in involving the youth, who are the decision-makers of tomorrow. About 120 students from Carmel Convent, Khopoli, and 110 students from Sinhgad Public School, Lonavala, participated and also have been sensitised about the programme.
The students were taken through training sessions and workshops focusing on the details of the programme, the six golden rules of energy saving, the role of students as energy champions and ambassadors, the importance of conservation of energy and ways to enroll at Club Enerji. The school management and students have appreciated the company’s initiative of starting the Club Enerji programme and shown interest for long-term and continuous association with them.
Speaking on the initiative, Anil Sardana, managing director, Tata Power, said, “It’s our endeavour to expand this programme across the country and propagate the message of resource conservation and importance of civic values to all citizens. This step reinforces this intent and we are really overwhelmed by the enthusiasm, dedication and participation of the school students to spread the message of energy conservation. We also take this opportunity to thank the principals and teachers of the school in extending their support for this initiative.”
Tata Power’s ‘Energy Conservation Programme’, introduced in various schools in the city, aims at creating maximum impact to educate and create awareness amongst people on the effective management and conservation of electricity in our everyday life.
