GE to Showcase Latest Technology and Service Innovations
OREANDA-NEWS. With the offshore oil and gas industry seeking more advanced technologies and skilled workers, GE Oil & Gas (NYSE: GE) and GE’s Power Conversion business are joining forces to showcase their latest product and service innovations as well as numerous career opportunities with GE this week at the SPE Offshore Europe 2013, Europe’s largest oil and gas conference.
“The future for the sector and for our business looks extremely good and, as we continue to push the limits of exploration and production activities and technological innovation, Offshore Europe will remain an important platform for sharing technical expertise, industry experience, success stories and lessons learned,” said Rod Christie, CEO-Subsea Systems for GE Oil & Gas.
Key technology announcements include the introduction of a new standardized subsea manifold as the newest member of GE’s Structured Products portfolio of pre-engineered subsea products. GE’s Structured Products are designed to dramatically reduce the time it takes to design, deliver and deploy vital subsea production equipment to customers. The company also will highlight details of a new Completion Workover Riser System (CWOR) for well access intervention. The two technologies will be officially introduced on September 5 at the GE Oil & Gas Subsea Systems headquarters in Aberdeen, just across the road from the Offshore Europe event venue.
GE also plans to offer details of the second contract to be implemented as part of a five-year turbomachinery equipment and services supply frame agreement that GE and Statoil AS signed in February 2013.
GE’s Power Conversion business will also showcase its provision of a robust power solution for the offshore industry’s newest, most advanced floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels that will be deployed off the coast of Brazil.
A dedicated recruitment corner at GE’s stand (5B70) will enable conference attendees to learn about the numerous career opportunities available at GE while a Young Engineers Panel (YEP!) event on Thursday, September 5 will raise awareness of the multiple career opportunities available within the broader energy sector.
Conference delegates also will be given the opportunity to attend a presentation by Paul White, GE Oil & Gas Subsea Systems’ director of technology, who will join Subsea UK’s ‘Developing the Next Wave’ technical session, on Tuesday, September 3. White will discuss GE’s latest developments for the exploration and production (E&P) deep water industry.
GE senior engineer Baozhi Zhu also will be sharing her expertise with an e-poster presentation in the conference’s Drilling Technologies technical session. Her paper will discuss “Low Cycle Fatigue Analysis of Threaded Connectors for Subsea Drilling and Production.”
