Belarus Raises Retail Prices for Certain Cigarette Brands
OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus is raising retail prices for certain imported cigarette brands on September 1, 2013 by 1.2-4.3%, depending on the brand, the Tax Ministry of Belarus told.
Retail prices of the Korona and Fort brand cigarettes manufactured by Belarus' Tabak-Invest Ltd. shall grow by 1.2-3.6%: Corona and Korona Blue - Br6,200 (USD 0.69 at NBB rate) per pack, up 3.3%; Korona Slim - up 3.6% to Br5.700 (USD 0.64), Korona Style and Korona Elite - up 1.2% to Br5,400 (USD 0.6); Fort and Fort 7 - up 3.8% to Br5,500 (USD 0.62).
Retail prices of the Winston XSence Blue Winston XSence Silver brand cigarettes manufactured by Belarus' Tabak-Invest Ltd. under licence from Japan Tobacco International shall grow by 4.3% to Br11,500 (USD 1.29).
For cigarette brands, which will be available since September 1, 2013 but has not been supplied to Belarus since early 2013, the following retail prices shall apply: Sobranie Black, Sobranie blue and Sobranie Gold brand cigarettes - Br20,000 per pack (USD 2.24); Camel Filters, Camel Blue and Camel Silver - Br11,800 (USD 1.32) per pack; Kent iSWITCH - Br13,500 (USD 1.51) per pack.
The prices of other brand cigarettes have remained unchanged.
The latest increase in tobacco prices was registered on August 1, 2013, with prices growing by 5%-21.2%, depending on the brand.
