OREANDA-NEWS. August 30, 2013. In the 1st half of 2013, China’s share in logs supply form Russia has decreased, Scandinavia’s share- has increased, according to the report ''Wood export from Russia'' of Lesprom Network.

In the 1st half of 2013, Russia increased logs supply to Finland and Sweden by 67.2% and 56.4% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

However, logs supply to China decreased (by 10.7%), as well as to South Korea (by 26%) and to Japan (by 5.6%).

In June 2013, logs supply from Russia to Finland was almost equal to the volume of exports to China year-on-year.

For the first six months of 2013, the share of the largest 15 exporters from Russia increased up to 43%.

According to the report, Russian timber continues to fall in price: with growth of 8.7% the value of exports fell by 7.6%.

In the first half of the year, the highest average price of log export was observed in supplies to Japan, the lowest - to Finland.

Russian wood export reporting is included in the 29¬ page quarterly publication ‘’Wood export from Russia’’. The report, established in 2010, tracks the latest trends in Russian wood export, export prices and supplies volume.
