OREANDA-NEWS. For the ninth year, Land Rover is sponsoring The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials, taking place from September 5-8. As per last year, Land Rover is encouraging showgoers to take part in The Land Rover Perfect Tailgate Picnic Competition by preparing and bringing along their ultimate alfresco meal, then tweeting images to @landrover_uk with the hashtag: #lrtailgate.

British television presenter Kirstie Allsopp will take a tour of the dedicated picnic car park to check out the entrants' picnics. From 1:30pm - 2:30pm Kirstie will judge the competition, picking a well-deserved winner and two runner-ups. The successful entrant will win a Land Rover Experience Adventure, to be redeemed at a Land Rover Experience Centre of their choice. Two runner-ups will win a bundle of Land Rover goodies.

Last year, Zara Phillips judged the competition. She commented: “Land Rover vehicles have the best tailgates for picnics, so I was happy to take part. Judging was great fun and a lot of people had made a massive effort - the tablecloths, barbecues and gazebos were out in force. It was very hard to pick a winner.”

Land Rover is renowned for its famous tailgate, a feature that is used throughout the year - most commonly as a seat platform, or a table. It is the perfect accessory for a summer picnic.
