OREANDA-NEWS. Over 30 thousand trees and shrubs and about 100 thousand perennial flowers and lianas will be planted around buildings, sports grounds, swimming pools and along the pavements of the Main Olympic Village. The total landscaped area will be 240 thousand square meters.

Cypresses, dates, bamboos, azaleas, and oleanders are planted according to the project developed by landscape designers. "For landscaping of the Olympic Village built next to the Olympic Park there have been selected the plants that remain green all the year round and flower in winter time," noted Vadim Ovchinnikov, Project Manager of the Direction for Infrastructure Projects Implementation Control, SC Olympstroy.

Pavestone is being laid in the Olympic Village at the same time.
