OREANDA-NEWS. A universal mounting floor 75 m in length and 12 m in width is created in welding facility of Uralmashplant. The mounting floor has a high-precision levelling surface; deviation from flatness over the whole working surface of the mounting floor is 0,7 mm, maximum. This floor provides Uralmashplant with the possibility of carrying out assembly of large structures up to 75 m in length for welding. These could be main girders of overhead travelling cranes, spreader booms, walking dragline frames, and units of hydraulic turbine equipment.

Now when the whole unit will be assembled complete in one place, the time for its manufacture will be reduced. Besides, there appeared a possibility to manufacture a number of products, quite new for Uralmashplant, in particular at present an issue regarding manufacture of structures for drawout football fields for stadiums and wharf cranes is being considered.

Uralmashplant production engineers and designers have designed universal jigs that provide for assembly of three dimensional structures on the mounting floor. Apart from this the section will contain self-moving elevators capable of carrying out works at the height up to 12 meters, dust-free shot-blaster plant. All this will make the assembly operations at height easier and improve quality of the manufactured product.

At present the first production operations are being made on the new mounting floor. The first order is control assembly of base frame of ESH 15.90 walking dragline, a spare part of one of the machines supplied to India. After that assembly of spreader boom will be performed. A set of equipment including structures of spreader is being manufactured for ThyssenKrupp Fцrdertechnik and is one of the most important orders for today.
