OREANDA-NEWS.  The fire at the well #90 at Bulla-Deniz field has reached high temperature within a radius of 350 meters from an open flame as the well was covered with blowout prevention equipments.

This situation has disabled approaching the well. In this connection, the main task of the commission comprised of SOCAR and the MES experts is surpassing the flame in a vertical way, by applying military equipments. The well mouth was cleaned from the impeding equipments by accurate hits of the military ships of the State Border Service. Consequently, the fire was surpassed and directed to a vertical way. Therefore, ships and personnel were able to approach the well. Six fire ships were involved in rectifying the flame. Although the flame could be extinguished completely, it was decided to liquidate the flame by burning in order to prevent the water pollution in the sea and provide personnel security at the platform.

At present, works on rectifying the accident are under way.
