OREANDA-NEWS. August 27, 2013. Frederich Huster, manager of Strabag, the road-repairing company, said this as inspecting this segment of the highway, the press service of the government informs. The first ring road will be constructed at the intersection of two national roads at the village of Gura Camencii in the region of Floresti.

This segment is notorious in Moldova for a huge number of road accidents. Two belt roads more will be constructed at Rogojeni and at the fork between Drochia and Otaci in the region of Soroca. According to Premier Iurie Leanca, while driving along ring roads, drivers reduce the speed. He expressed hope that belt rings would be constructed at other dangerous segments of national highways too.

The Premier also checked the quality of the repair works on the Vadani-Pirlita road, included in the Sarateni-Soroca program and designed for heavy trucks. According to Frederich Huster, backup personnel and additional machines will make it possible to complete preparation of this segment for the cold spell and by the summer of 2014 this segment will have been put into service.

As it was said earlier, rehabilitation of the M2 national road between the Sarateni fork and Drochia fork at a length of 93 kilometres was enumerated among priority goals in the National Development Strategy and the National Surface Transport Infrastructure Strategy. This is a very important segment of the highway thorough which passengers and goods are transported from Moldova to Ukraine and backward.
