OREANDA-NEWS. Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development of the Republic of Karelia Svetlana Antokhina had a meeting with Elli Aaltonen, Director General of Regional State Administrative Agency for Eastern Finland. Andrei Mikhailov, Head of the Medical Relief Department of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the RK, took part in the meeting on the part of Russia, and the Finnish party was represented by Counselor to the Agency Tuula Kaariainen.

Issues of implementation of Karelian-Finnish projects in the sphere of health and social development were discussed during the meeting. The emphasis was laid on practical properties of activities and their effectiveness.

Matters also concerned preparation for the XIIIth the Days of Medicine of Karelia. This international conference is held once in two years, by turns, in Karelia and in Finland. In 2012 the conference took place in Petrozavodsk.

The dialogue also concerned peculiarities of health care and social service within the neighbour territories.

Much attention was paid to prospects of further cooperation.
