Gazpromneft Marine Bunker, the operator of Gazprom Neft's bunkering business, has acquired a bunkering tanker for operations at the seaports of the Black Sea region, including Novorossiysk, Tuapse, Port Kavkaz, as well as Temryuk, Taman, and Sochi. The bunkering tanker, upon which the Russian flag was raised on August 9, has been christened Gazpromneft Nord-East. The ship was built in 2008, is 83 meters long, and can carry 2600 tons. The tanker is equipped with state-of-the-art navigation and security systems, and it has unrestricted navigation and an ice class which allows it to operate even at frozen ports during the winter.

“The Black Sea region market is growing rapidly. Over the first six months of 2013 we supplied 170,000 tons of marine fuel to ships. Expanding our fleet into promising regions is one of Gazpromneft Marine Bunker's priority tasks,” commented Andrei Vasiliev, the company's CEO. “By purchasing new ships, we are not simply renewing our fleet. This primarily allows us to provide quality service for our customers and increase substantially the volumes of fuel we supply.”
