OREANDA-NEWS.  Sony Corp. announced that it will set up a center designed to promote ultrahigh-definition video known as 4K in the U.K.'s Pinewood Studios, home to the film industry in that country.

Slated to open in late September, the center will help those working in filmmaking learn how to use 4K cameras and editing equipment. It will accommodate about 50 people. Sony has similar facilities in Hollywood in the U.S., Mumbai in India and Beijing in China.

By promoting production of 4K video, Sony aims to boost sales of related equipment and products.
