Tourism Development Strategy Developed in Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS. August 26, 2013. As the Director of the Tourism Agency Nicolai Platon has announced during the press conference, the strategy includes five key objectives: to improve legislation and its harmonization with European standards, assessment of tourist potential of the country and promotion of Moldova as a tourist destination; development of regional tourism, higher level of training and quality of services, technological modernization of industry through application of informational technologies.
According to the document, Moldova plans to develop 20 forms of tourism, including cultural, gastronomic, social, sport, urban, environmental, etc. At present, the following types of tourism are most popular in Moldova: business tourism, wine, rural, religious, sightseeing and medical tourism. In 2014 it is planned to certify 20 tour routes and in 2015-2016 - 10 more.
According to the strategy, annual increase in the flow of foreign tourists will make 3% and national - 4%, respectively. The budget for implementation of the whole strategy totals 167.3 million lei and 62 million lei for the first stage (2014-2016).
At the same time, the revenue from both kinds of tourism (external and internal) in 2014-2020 is provided at the level of 1.09 billion lei. The strategy is attached by the Action Plan for 2014-2016, which contains 32 objectives.
