OREANDA-NEWS. August 23, 2013. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) admonished the “Association of Production and Trading Enterprises of the Fish Market” Non-Commercial Organization that it is unacceptable to exercise actions which can lead to violating the antimonopoly law.

On 12th August 2013 the “Association of Production and Trading Enterprises of the Fish Market” disseminated information at its web-site and in mass media that prices for refrigerated salmon and trout in Russian retail can increase in the near future for at least 20%, exceeding 600 Rubles.

FAS believes that such public statements can result in violating the antimonopoly law by market participants – fixing and maintaining prices on the market of refrigerated salmon and trout imported from Norway.

Also, due to public dissemination of information by the Association about a price cartel among Norwegian suppliers of salmon and trout, FAS requested the Association to submit data and documents corroborating such information.
