Ukraine Passed over 50 Investment Proposals to Associations
OREANDA-NEWS. Ukrainian side has passed more than 50 investment proposals in the field of agriculture, transport, energy, medicine, recycling and waste management to interested associations and businesses of partner countries in the first half of the year.
"One of the most important tools in promoting foreign trade activities of the state are still joint intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation, which are set on the basis of interstate and intergovernmental agreements. Currently there are 73 such commissions: 11 - CIS and Georgia, 15 - Central and Eastern Europe, 14 - Western Europe, 9 - North and South America, 14 - Near and Middle East and Africa, 10 - Asia-Pacific region. An issue of creation of another 7 commissions with Algeria, Bahrain, Qatar, Pakistan, South Africa, Sudan, Thailand is being negotiated," the deputy director of the Department of Trade and Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade Volodymyr Tkachuk said.
Within six months the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade has provided preparation and holding of 4 meetings of joint intergovernmental committees and their working groups with countries such as the USA, Serbia, India, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Serbia, Lithuania, Germany, Belarus, China, Turkey, Georgia, Cyprus, Kyrgyzstan.
"An important part in the work of commissions is the intensification of investment cooperation, promoting joint projects in priority sectors of Ukraine's economy by attracting foreign investment. First of all, machinery, metallurgy, light industry, wood processing, chemical industry, power industry, coal industry, modernization of transport infrastructure and communal and housing services," Volodymyr Tkachuk said.
The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade takes measures for the development and adoption of specific cooperation programs with countries in the Asia-Pacific region and Latin America to implement the State Program of Economic Revitalization for 2013-2014.
The main purpose of the adoption of these cooperation programs is the revitalization of the activity on promising markets of the Asia-Pacific region and Latin America, the diversification of exports of domestic products on these markets, attracting investment of countries-partners to implement joint projects, including large-scale projects, development of domestic production using new technologies with foreign partners.
