OREANDA-NEWS. In accordance with its investment program, the Blagoveshchensk Valves Plant (BVP, Blagoveshchensk, Republic of Bashkortostan, a OMK company) has launched new equipment in order to expand its capability of processing parts of large fittings.

The plant has launched a new test bench for safety valves, which will allow workers to check safety valves both by a pneumatic method as before and by hydrotesting for operating pressure of up to 40 MPa. Its advantage is that it provides the possibility of gradually increasing the pressure while ensuring that the test findings have high accuracy.

BVP's reserve of equipment for processing parts of large fittings has also been supplemented with a new Doosan vertical lathe center with numeric control and milling functionality for disk and collar treatment. Unlike universal equipment, this center provides for more accurate and high-speed processing of parts, as workers can carry out lathe and milling operations without removing and remounting a part from the machine. The machine is expected to go online by the end of August.

“With the implementation of the new investment program adopted in May 2013, the company has been fitted with all the necessary equipment to produce and test any large fittings with diameter varying from 300 mm to 800 mm. We increased the capacity of our workshops. Furthermore, the accuracy of the part process has been improved, as has the quality of our products. The successful implementation of the modernization program will be beneficial for the plant's capabilities to meet the demand of our clients,” Managing Director of BVP Aleksandr Kozhevnikov said.
