Customs Service of Moldova Issued Over 200000 Road Toll Certificates
OREANDA-NEWS. August 21, 2013.This year it was issued 17,160 vignettes in January, 14,990 vignettes in February, 17,940 vignettes in March, 21,090 in April, 33,680 in May, 30,420 in June and 40,850 in July, the Customs Service said.
The Customs Service warns owners of cars registered aboard about a necessity to meet the deadline and the way of paying the duty. For cars registered abroad, the certificate is valid from 0:00 of a day it was bought on till 24:00 of a day the road toll was paid for. The certificate can not be valid more than 180 days a calendar year.
It remains valid if the car changes its owner. Since the beginning of the year, the Customs Service reports, it was drawn up 1,426 reports on cars that were staying in the country for more than 180 days a calendar year. Customs officers drew up 3.364 protocols on the vignette-free driving. As the Code of Offence states, driving the car without the road toll certificate for up to 7 days is fined MDL 2,000. In case of the repeated infringement, individuals are fined MDL 2, 600, legal entities being fined MDL 4,000.
Staying in the country without the certificate for over 7 days is fined MDL 2,600. If committed again, the offence is sanctioned MDL 3,000 for individuals and MDL 6,000 for legal entities.
