OREANDA-NEWS. August 21, 2013.As it informed in the National Bureau of Statistics, in particular, they were visited by 68 thousand Moldovan tourists (60.6% of the total) and 44.3 million foreign tourists (39.4%). At the same time, the number of foreign tourists increased by 6.2%.

According to the NBS, in January-June this year, the number of tourists in the hostels for visitors increased by 19.2%, in hotels and motels-by 5.6%. At the same time, the total number of tourists in tour and agro-tourism guest houses decreased by 8.1%, in tourist villas, camps and other recreational structures - by 14.6%, in health structures - by 3.8%, in children's camps – by 1%. In I half of 2013 collective tourist accommodation structures have roomed 63.4 thousand tourists or 56.5% of the total number of accommodated tourists (54,2% in January-June 2012).

Most of the foreign tourists who used services of collective accommodation structures arrived from Romania (21.7%), Russia (10.8%), Ukraine (9.5%), Germany (6.3 %), Turkey (5.6%), Italy (5.1%), the U.S. (3.8%), Poland (2.9%), the UK (2.6%), Israel (1.9%) , Georgia, Bulgaria and Austria (1.8%), Belarus (1.5%), France (1.3%) and Sweden (1.1%). The number of overnights spent in collective accommodation structures in the period amounted to 582.7 thousand, or 2.4% more than at the same period of 2012. 83.1% of overnights spent account for Moldovan tourists.

In I half of 2013 the index of population density in tourist accommodation structures amounted to 28.9%. In particular, this index in the health structures made 59.5%, hostels for visitors - 55%, children's camps - 33.8%, hotels and motels - 17.1%, tourist and agro-guest houses - 12.3%, tourism villas, camps and other rest structures- 12.1%.
