OREANDA-NEWS. August 21, 2013.A working group formed by the Government to tackle problem issues of Ukrainian-Russian trade and economic cooperation commenced acting, first results of its activity can be expected within nearest time already. Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuriy Boyko announced.

“Respective commissions have been received, a working group formed. On Friday, August 16 in Russia we had negotiations with First Vice Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Ihor Shuvalov and head of Federal Customs Service of Russia Andriy Belyaninov. It was agreed that on Monday, August 19, a meeting of relevant leaders from Ukrainian side and leaders of Federal Customs Service of Russia would be held to settle all the issues, those that hamper normal trade and economic relations of our countries,” the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine explained.

According to him, during a meeting with the First Vice Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and the head of Federal Customs Service of Russia there was achieved understanding that the majority of issues concerning clearance of Ukrainian goods exported by railway transport to the territory of the Russian Federation would be solved within nearest time.

“Concerning railway a lot of problems will be removed within nearest time. Concerning heavy transport and cargoes transported by motor vehicles the negotiations will take place the following week,” Yuriy Boyko underlined.

The Vice Premier also noted that solving the issue of customs clearance of cargoes was of extreme significance.

“Yesterday a telephone conversation between Presidents of Ukraine and Russia with regards to this topic took place which is rather sensitive with the view to considerable trade turnover between our countries,” Yuriy Boyko has said. 

He added on Saturday, August 17, there had been held a meeting chaired by Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov which concerned first results of negotiations in Russia with regards to customs clearance of cargoes transported via Ukrainian-Russian border.
