Business Incubator Opened in Northern Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS. August 21, 2013. Prime Minister Iurie LEANCA participated in an opening ceremony of a business incubator in Singerei district, Northern Moldova. Attending the event were the head of the EU Delegation to Chisinau, Dirk SCHUEBEL, representatives of the central and local public authorities, as well as business people.
The incubator was created to back the development of business at early activity. The resident companies will benefit from production spaces or offices at a low price, consultancy and entrepreneurial training, advisory support as regards the equipment’s purchase, minimal management costs and other advantages.
LEANCA expressed satisfaction with such an investment, noting that it would allow creating jobs.
“Moldova’s biggest problem, unfortunately, is poverty. We must combat this phenomenon, but we can do it by creating jobs. Such a priority is also set in the cabinet?s activity programme for 100 days. I am very happy that over one hundred people will be employed due to this business incubator,” LEANCA said.
LEANCA conveyed a special message to the new residents: “I wish you to overcome the incubation phase as soon as possible and to move to the maturity one.”.
Dirk SCHUEBEL said that over 900 business incubators were operating in the EU.
“In the EU, 99 per cent of companies are small- and medium-sized enterprises and 2 out of 3 jobs are offered namely by these enterprises,” SCHUEBEL said.
Initially, the Singerei-based business incubator will host up to 20 companies. At least 30 per cent of the residents will be directed to production, whereas 70 per cent of them will work in the service market, namely, in accountancy, business consulting services etc.
In the context of his working visit to Singerei district, LEANCA also visited the district hospital, where a block of the institution has been totally restored. LEANCA also met the district’s leadership, as well as the heads of the decentralised services. He approached the need to meet the priorities set for the first 100 days of the cabinet’s activity, especially, those related to jobs creation, fighting against corruption and European agenda.
