OREANDA-NEWS. August 19, 2013. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (OFAS Russia) initiated a case against the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and Moscow State Transport University upon signs of violating Article 16 of the Law “On Protection of Competition”.

“According to the information received by the competition authority, the Ministry of Transport and Moscow State Transport University concluded an unlawful agreement for an open tender to carry out a research project on “Developing Scientifically-Based Proposals for Establishing a System of Training Specialists in Transport Safety in View of the Specifics of Different Types of Transport under the Integrated Programme for Public Safety in Transportation (No. 4 Area No.6 Appendix)”.

“Unfortunately, even in such important field as public safety we observe signs of anticompetitive agreements. Such agreements unreasonably make pre-determined organizations the winners and, as a consequence, the state receives low quality services at excessive prices”, said the Head of FAS Anti-Cartel Department Andrey Tenischev.
