World HRD Congress Confers Jindal Power Limited with Award
OREANDA-NEWS. The World HRD Congress awarded Jindal Power Limited (JPL), a company promoted by Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL), with the prestigious “Best Leadership Development Program for Top Management” for the year 2013, at the Asia's Training & Development Excellence Awards 2013, held in Singapore recently.
JPL was recognized for the company's unique HR initiative LEAD (Leadership Exploration and Development) designed to build on the Jindal Leadership model within the organization to allow its people to innovate, manage uncertainty, and compete effectively in a global environment. The four core elements of the programme aim to achieve the following:

Uphold our social responsibility through sustainable development
Achieve business excellence through process rigour, strategic thinking and innovation

JPL has the distinction of setting up India's first mega power project in the private sector at Tamnar in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh.
The company is making an investment of USD 2.5 bllion (Rs. 13,410 crore) towards its capacity expansion plans, by setting up an additional 2400 MW thermal power plant at Tamnar (Chhattisgarh). Jindal Power Limited has signed an MoU with the State Government of Jharkhand to set up a 2640 MW thermal power plant.
In the hydro sector, the company has signed agreements for 6100 MW projects in Arunachal Pradesh in a joint venture with the Hydro Power Development Corporation of Arunachal Pradesh Limited (HPDCAPL).
