Dr.Web 8.0 for Android Updated
OREANDA-NEWS. Doctor Web has updated its Dr.Web for Android to version 8.00.5. The update delivers fixes for a number of known errors and enhances the product's features for detecting threats to handhelds.
In particular, the updated version of Dr.Web for Android has had the frequency of its automatic virus database updates changed from once a day to four times a day in order to improve the detection of threats whose numbers are growing daily. Now the application also supports a Vietnamese language interface. The update also addresses known issues which include an error resulting in repeated scanning of the memory card, an issue involving notifications about an invalid serial number during updating, and defects that concern messages about a license's expiration after its renewal and the launching of the file monitor whenever an application is opened. Also eliminated were a number of other issues, in particular, those that caused the application to terminate abnormally. Now items in the custom scan list are properly being sorted alphabetically. Sorting is not case sensitive but takes into account special characters.
The updated version of Dr.Web for Android is available on Google Play (Dr.Web Anti-virus, Dr.Web Anti-Virus Life license) and on Doctor Web's site (Dr.Web for Android).
Dr.Web for Android will be updated automatically. If automatic updates are disabled on the device, go to Google Play, choose Dr.Web Anti-virus or Dr.Web Anti-Virus Life license on the application list, and click “Update”.
In order to update via the Doctor Web site, you need to download a new distribution file. If the option “New application version” is enabled, a new version notification will be displayed when updating the virus databases. You can start the download directly from this dialogue box.
