Trade Deficit of Moldova with EU Increases by 13%
OREANDA-NEWS. August 15, 2013. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in January-June 2013 exports to the EU amounted to USD 512.6 million (45.7% of total exports), decreasing by 3.1% compared to January-June 2012.
At the same period imports of goods to Moldova from the EU grew by 7.3% - up to USD 1 billion 142.8 million, amounting to 44.1% of the total imports. In January-June 2013 the largest volume of exports to the EU accounted for Romania - USD 188.4 million, or 11.1% more than at the same period of 2012, followed by: Italy - USD 77.1 million (-35 , 8%), Germany - USD 48.6 million (+45.4%), United Kingdom - USD 46.4 million (+14.6%), Poland - USD 40.7 million (+4.6%); France - USD 16.3 million (+2.6%), Bulgaria - USD 15.7 million (-2.4%), Greece - USD 15.6 million (c2, 2 times), Czech Republic - USD 14.5 million (2.4 times), Hungary - \\$ 10.0 million (-33.9%).
The largest volume of imports from the EU accounted for Romania - USD 313.3 million (-7.0%), followed by Germany - USD 185.6 million (-1.8%), Italy - USD 156.8 million (-1.5%), Austria - USD 63.9 million (+26.4%), Poland - USD 62.5 million (-4.5%), France - USD 55.1 million (+16.0%), Hungary - USD 50.2 million (+13.3%), Bulgaria - USD 43.3 million (+36.7%), United Kingdom - USD 28.8 million (-9.4%), Netherlands - USD 23.5 million (-3.3%), Greece - USD 21.1 million (-8.3 %), Spain - USD 20.7 million (-2.1%), etc.
