OREANDA-NEWS. August 15, 2013. In Ukraine, as of August 13 the works on preparation of housing and social services for the heating season are carried out by 75%. By September 1, preparations for winter in all educational institutions in the country must be completed and by 1 October at all sites. This was stressed by Vice Prime Minister Olexandr Vilkul during the working meeting on the preparation for the heating season.

Thus he stressed that the Government has tightened control over the preparation of housing facilities for the new heating season.

Olexandr Vilkul said that to reduce the consumption of natural gas in Ukraine 663 boilers will be renovated with the introduction of energy saving technologies, more than 1000 old boilers to be replaced on modern boilers with higher efficiency and to be capitally repaired other more than 1000 boilers. To reduce costs for production and transportation of heat 474 km network will be renovated.

Olexandr Vilkul noted that energy-saving technologies and modernization of pipelines is one of the ways to avoid increasing tariffs for housing and communal services.

"The Government firmly controls tariffs for housing and communal services. There are working groups in each region, which examine the economic justification of tariffs and in case of violations to relevant authorities for taking appropriate action, "- said Alexander Vilkul.
