OREANDA-NEWS. August 15, 2013. As it was informed in the National Bureau of Statistics, within the last 12 months (from July 2012 to July 2013) the inflation rate in Moldova amounted to 4.3% vs. 4% in July 2011-July 2012. In July of the last year the inflation rate made 0.1%.

According to NBS, deflation in July 2013 was due to a seasonal decline in the food prices by 2.8%, vs. increase in the prices for non-food products by 0.1%. At the same time, prices for services rendered to population have not changed. According to official statistics, in July 2013 the decrease was registered in the prices for : potatoes -33.2%, stone fruits (peaches, apricots, plums) - 30%, fresh vegetables -23.3%, in particular: tomatoes- by 51 %, melons - 29.4%, beet - 27.2%, cabbage -26.5%, onion - 25.8%, carrot - 22.9%, sweet pepper - 18, 6%, seed fruits - 8.5%.

At the same time, the increase was registered in prices for eggs - by 3.8%, cucumbers - 2.6%, exotic fruits - 1.5%, beer - 1.1%. As to the non-food goods the increase was registered in prices of clothing - by 0.3%, including children's t-shirts-by 0.9% and bathing suits - by 0.6%. The prices of the personal care goods, sporting goods, travel goods (bags, suitcases) auto parts and bicycles have grown by 0.5%. Prices for building materials, stationery, cameras and video cameras grew by 0.3%, medicines - by 0.2%.

At the same time, in July fuel prices dropped by 0.3%, including liquefied gas in cylinders- 1.2% and carbon – 0.9%. Monthly tariffs on foreign tourism services grew by 3%, international rail services - by 2.3%, air freight - by 2.8%, services of kindergartens and nurseries – by 1%. At the same time, the transportation tariffs decreased by 0.5%.
