Components in Dr.Web 6.0 for Business and Dr.Web AV-Desk 6.0 Updated
OREANDA-NEWS. Doctor Web has updated the Dr.Web SelfPROtect module (8.01.00.01173), scanner (8.3.0.201308070), Dr.Web Scanning Engine (8.1.0.201307100), Dr.Web Anti-rootkit API (8.5.0.201308060), firewall (7.0.2.07312) and Dr.Web Net Filtering Service (6.0.14.07171) in its series 8 products: Dr.Web Desktop Security Suite, Dr.Web Server Secu8rity Suite (includes the Control Center) and Dr.Web AV-Desk 6.0. The main innovation is support of Windows 8.1 (also known as Windows Blue).
A number of changes have been introduced for the Dr.Web scanner. To optimise active threat neutralisation, the 'Autorun objects' option has been removed from the UI. The option to check boot sectors and scan for rootkits is now available for users with different access permissions. Also fixed was an issue involving the OK button remaining inactive when users chose to scan a local drive.
Certificate processing and threat activity detection routines in Dr.Web Anti-rootkit API have been modified as well. The issue of Dr.Web Net Filtering Service involving the manual interception settings disregarded by SpIDer Mail has been resolved.
The update will be performed automatically; however, a system reboot will be required twice.
