BOPP-film from Omsk Polypropylene Successfully Passes Lab Trials
OREANDA-NEWS. August 13, 2013. Leading Russian makers of BOPP-films had tested the Omsk polymer.
Production of “Poliom” plant successfully passed trials in companies “Biaxplen” and “ISRATEC S”. The Omsk polypropylene had been tested on 40 and 25 micron films. According to the producers’ feedback, characteristics and appearance of the films made from homopolymer PP H031 BF, conform with the enterprises’ specifications.
Nowadays the homopolymer is undergoing trials on 30 micron films and white films. According to preliminary evaluations one can make a conclusion about possibility of Omsk polypropylene use on 20 micron films.
After homologation the producers are planning to make expanded tests for batches of 300 tonnes volume and based on their results to make decision concerning application of Omsk polypropylene in industrial production.
Let us mention, that in June specialists of the plant started making PP H031 BF grade polypropylene, meant for the making of BOPP-film which is widely used for packaging of goods in food, perfumery, pulp and paper and light industries. Among the advantages of biaxially-oriented film – high barrier, physical-mechanical and optical characteristics, heat resistance, rigidity, elasticity, ecological safety.
