OREANDA-NEWS. August 08, 2013. Qatar Petroleum (QP) signed agreements with four major sponsors of the 2nd QP Occupational Health (QPOH) Conference, which is scheduled on 19-21 November 2013 here in Doha.

To be held under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry, the 2nd QPOH Conference 2013 will feature scientific presentations focusing on occupational medicine, industrial hygiene and occupational health nursing. The three-day event is organized by QP’s Medical Services Department in partnership with the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), and the theme of this year’s event is “Innovations for a Healthy Workforce.”

The companies that have agreed to support the event are Qatar Shell as the platinum sponsor, ORYX GTL Limited as the gold sponsor, as well as Qatargas and Qatar Fuel Additives Company (QAFAC) as the silver sponsors.

“Building on the success of the inaugural edition of the event last year, Qatar Petroleum is proud to once again organize the 2nd QPOH Conference this year, and we are highly grateful to the strong support of the event’s sponsors, all of whom share our vision of promoting high standards in occupational health practice,” said Mr. Ahmad Ali Al-Mawlawi, Director of Administration of QP.

Mr. Al-Mawlawi added that patronage of his Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada Minister of Energy and Industry, Chairman and Managing Director of Qatar Petroleum to the conference affirms QP’s commitment and the continued efforts toward developing and improving occupational health standards across all sectors in alignment with Qatar National Development strategy.

He also mentioned that QP is always trying to enforce healthy workplace and ensure healthy workers through implementation of different measures in alignment with national and international standards

Mr. Al-Mawlawi signed the sponsorship agreements on behalf of QP at a formal ceremony held yesterday evening at Hilton, Doha. The event was also attended by Dr. Ahmad Al Badran, Acting Manager for Medical Services of QP as well as by senior officials of the sponsoring companies.

The 2nd QPOH Conference 2013 will be attended by occupational health experts, medical doctors, nurses, other healthcare professionals and delegates from all over the Middle East region and other parts of the world. In addition to the scientific presentations, the event will also have panel discussions, networking sessions, poster presentations, workshop and an exhibition on the occupational health programs of companies.
