ICBC Wins CBA Awards
OREANDA-NEWS. August 08, 2013. Earlier, at the 2012 China Banking Social Responsibility Report Announcement & Honoring Conference sponsored by China Banking Association ("CBA"), ICBC was named "Best Socially Responsible Financial Institution of the Year" and "Socially Responsible of the Year Best in Financial Services for People's Livelihood", in recognition of ICBC's excellent contribution in social responsibility. Chairman Jiang Jianqing has been honored "Socially Responsible Personality of the Year".
"Happy Mother & Child 120", a long-term program subsidized by ICBC in targeted poverty-stricken areas, was named "Excellent Charity Project of the Year". Beijing Branch's Yuegezhuang Sub-branch and Guizhou Branch's Huopu Sub-branch have been awarded "Best Special Contribution Outlet in Social Responsibility of the Year".
The conference was aimed to present the fulfillment of social responsibility of the banks in China, their practices and management in social responsibility. Awards were presented to the banks in China with outstanding commitment in social responsibility. This year's competition drew reference from the standards and guidelines of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in China and overseas. The finalists were selected through a process involving preparation, nomination, scoring and review by the experts.
ICBC was one of the earliest financial companies in China to practice CSR, aiming to be a listed bank with the best prestige. By lending full support to economic restructuring and focusing on transformation, ICBC provides loans to real economy. For six consecutive years ICBC publishes CSR report. Since going public, ICBC leverages its domain expertise and incorporates CSR into corporate culture program to increase brand value and core competence. Being a good corporate citizen, ICBC has beefed up its company value, shareholder return, customer benefits, employee rights and benefits and public image.
