OREANDA-NEWS. August 07, 2013. Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Olexandr Vilkul in Kherson spent off-site meeting on the construction of infrastructure object, a bridge crossing over the railroad track.

"The Government develops logistic potential of the region to improve comfort of passengers and drivers. Construction of the bridge crossing over the railroad track in Kherson has strategic and social importance for the city and its inhabitants. It connects large residential areas, where live over 100 000 people, and relieves road traffic," Olexandr Vilkul said, noting that this project is a part of the city's infrastructure, improvement its transit potential.

At present, the only motorway of Kherson is Mykolaiv highway that connects Tavriyskyi, Pivnichnyi and Shumenskyi residential areas with the city center. The city develops and the number of vehicles growths, so the motorway is reloaded and it creates inconvenience for drivers and passengers.

Construction of this bridge was started in 2012 by the instruction of the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych.

Under the project, the total length of the roadway is 2 thousand meters, capacity - 2 thousand vehicles per hour. The work on the creation of the bridge will finish in 2014. At present, construction work performed by 30%.

Materials of domestic production are used in the construction of the bridge crossing. "It is a catalyst for development of the construction and related industries," Olexandr Vilkul said.
