First Vice PM of Ukraine Promised Assistance to Cardiac Surgeons
OREANDA-NEWS. August 07, 2013. The First vice Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov has promised possible assistance to domestic surgeons who work in the capital Heart Centre, and noted that this unique institution will have no problems with financing. He stated this during his visit to Kyiv City Heart Centre, where the First vice Prime Minister familiarized with the work of the hospital and spoke with its management, staff and patients.
Serhiy Arbuzov visited an intensive therapy unit and a unit of treatment of congenital separation of children where he spoke with parents of a newborn girl from Chernivtsi region (local doctors gave only 1% of a hundred that she will survive). However, the unique surgical aggression carried out by specialists of the Heart Center enables the child to live a full life.
It should be noted that all such surgeries are free for patients and are funded by the state budget.
Talking about the Center, its director Borys Todurov asked First vice Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov to facilitate the adoption of amendments to the budget to the state allocated funds needed for the Centre. This issue is particularly timely, when the Centre goes from the control of Kyiv City Administration to the control of the Government.
In turn, Serhiy Arbuzov promised possible assistance to the Heart Center and thanked its team for saving thousands of children's lives.
"I declare with confidence that you will not have the need in financing. We will find a possibility to finance the Centre in full this year and next too. We will fulfill our promises in the hope that you will be able to save more lives," Serhiy Arbuzov said.
He was supported by Health Minister Raisa Bogatyreva too. She noted that there are many professional surgeons in Ukraine and we have the necessary material resources to do advanced surgical aggressions. This is confirmed by the work of the Heart Center.
"I am confident that the Centre will further increase the positive results of its activities. This is an indication that we are on the right way in our reforms and most importantly - their result is obviously today. Looking at the work of the center, we can confidently say that we do not need to go far from for modern technology they are there for us," Raisa Bogatyreva added.
Recall that the Kyiv City Clinical Hospital "Kyiv City Heart Center" was established and put into operation on December 21, 2007. Since April 2008, the Centre provides a full range of cardiac care for both children and adults not only from Kyiv and all Ukraine's regions, but also foreigners. Each year, the Center carries out about 4000 operations.
