OREANDA-NEWS. August 07, 2013. Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov has ordered to check the validity of raising tariffs for housing and communal services in the regions and report on the results of the checks within a week.

As you know, during the last week the cost the services of water supply, sanitation, maintenance of buildings and adjacent areas increased in some towns of Crimea, Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv and Cherkasy regions, where local authorities have revised the tariffs.

The head of the Government stressed the inadmissibility of unjustified price increases for households. The issue of forming rates must be thoroughly studied, and increase if it is needed must be economically justified. Illegally increased prices of utility services have to be reduced to the previous level.

Mykola Azarov charged the Ministry of Regional Development, Housing and Communal Services thoroughly investigate the problem of increasing tariffs, which particularly acute over the last week and took the matter under personal control.
