Sumisho Montblanc Traces its Roots to Takeyama Seni
OREANDA-NEWS. Sumisho Montblanc Co., Ltd. traces its roots to Takeyama Seni, a textile company founded in 1950 that became a manufacturer and seller of professional-use uniforms in 1970 when Sumitomo Corporation and Toyobo Co., Ltd. acquired the company's capital.
In general, professional-use uniforms are classified into four areas: working, office, school and service. Sumisho Montblanc focuses on the service area—primarily white coats for hospital-use and food business-use.
Currently, the company's two business locations, the Osaka Head Office and the Tokyo Branch, are selling regular kept-in-stock products covered in its product catalogue published annually, as well as custom-order products that are tailored to customers' projects and needs, to 700 to 800 partners across Japan. In recent years, the company has worked with its partners in identifying diversified needs and proposing products that can meet those needs; for example, the need for trend-conscious design; compliance with the food sanitation management system, HACCP, to prevent contamination by foreign particulate matter; and improvement in washing durability and functionality.
Sumisho Montblanc is committed to quality and the use of good materials in its uniform manufacturing. Fine-tuned quality control is performed for all processes, including textile development, in-house pattern-making and prototype sewing, as well as sewing performed at factories. Additionally, textile evaluation specialists conduct strict quality inspections. These enable prompt improvements to be made with regard to any existing issues and problems. The company has about 20 partner sewing factories in Japan and production sites in China, Vietnam and Indonesia (as of July 2013). For the procurement of materials, the company develops the most suitable materials in a timely manner together with major spinning companies and synthetic fiber manufacturers.
For thorough quality and delivery control as well as product innovation, Sumisho Montblanc enhances cooperation between sales, planning, production, quality control, marketing and logistics, and deepens partner networks and internal communication to improve customer satisfaction.
