OREANDA-NEWS. August 06, 2013. "The agricultural sector of Ukraine needs of modern agricultural machinery of high level. Within the Grain of Ukraine Project, initiated by President Viktor Yanukovych at the Kherson machine-building plant jointly with the CLAAS Company (Germany) started production of modern Skiff-TUCANO-440 harvesters.

"Now our farmers can work on qualitative machinery of Ukrainian production. This is a real example of import substitution. We want that the inscription made in Ukraine to be on products that meet the highest quality standards as harvesters as Mercedes, vice Prime Minister Olexandr Vilkul said.

In the framework of the project is planned to create 400 jobs.

Olexandr Vilkul noted at the meeting that the project of joint production of combine harvesters is an important step in the development of agriculture, because through the use of modern technology in the next 5 years the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine has set the goal to increase the production of grain from this year's planned 54 million tons to 80 million tons.

"Thanks to the Grain of Ukraine Project we are able to realize joint with Ukraine plans to produce harvesters. We consider that the Ukrainian agricultural market is promising for export to markets in Eastern Europe and they concentrate optimistically to work in Ukraine, - a Regional Manager of the Export Group of CLAAS Company Thomas Klausnitser. Establishment of production of harvesters within the Grain of Ukraine National Project is effective conditions for increasing grain production, creating new jobs for the Ukrainians," Thomas Klausnitser said.
Olexandr Vilkul noted that among the priorities of the Government is to go completely to harvester of domestic production.

"Updating the fleet of harvesting machines in cooperation with CLAAS will provide the needs of agrarians with the qualitative technique and help to increase gross production of grain," the head of the State Agency for Investment and Management of National Projects of Ukraine Vladyslav Kaskiv said.

The development of agricultural machinery through import substitution is one of the most important tasks of the Government under the State Program of Economic Revitalization for 2013-2014.
