Russian Helicopters to Showcase Wide Range of Helicopters at MAKS 2013
OREANDA-NEWS. Russian Helicopters, a subsidiary of Oboronprom, part of State Corporation Rostec and a leading global designer and manufacturer of helicopters, will take part in the International Aviation and Space Salon (MAKS 2013), traditionally held at the central test base airport of the Mikhail Gromov Flight Research Institute in Zhukovsky Aug 27 to Sept 1. MAKS-2013 will be a landmark event for Russian Helicopters: a wide range of military and civilian helicopters, including some latest developments, will be demonstrated to both experts and general visitors at the airshow.
Russian Helicopters exhibit will be located at the 600 sq. m. Oboronprom’s exhibit area. Russian Helicopters booth will be located at the C3 pavilion. The helicopters are to be exhibited at the static display and some of them will take part in the flight programme.
This year, Russian Helicopters is to showcase a number of new helicopter prototypes which will make their debut at MAKS 2013: the Mi-171A2, an upgraded multipurpose medium helicopter based on the famous Mi-8/17 series, combining the latest technologies and the newest materials; and the Ka-62, a medium multipurpose helicopter - the first Russian helicopter to be produced in cooperation with international companies. The airshow’s visitors will also see the new Mi-38 transport & passenger helicopter filling in the niche between the Mi-8/17 family and the Mi-26T the worlds’ largest helicopter in serial production. The Mi-38 is also scheduled to take part in a demonstration flight.
Ansat commercial multipurpose light helicopter and the AW139 model produced at a joint HeliVert plant established by Russian Helicopters and AgustaWestland are expected to draw the interest of helicopter operators and industry professionals.
A range of helicopter models will be showcased at the booth at C3 pavilion, including a prospective medium helicopter project which was introduced to the world market as RACHEL (Russian Advanced Commercial Helicopter). The project made its debut at the Farnborough Airshow 2012 in the UK. The RACHEL is to replace Russia's best-selling Mi-8/17 family in the future. A full-size mock-up of the Ka-62 executive version will also be displayed at the booth.
Besides Russian Helicopters is planning a large-scale business programme at MAKS-2013. The 3rd International Russian Helicopters Operators Conference 2013 (IRHOC 2013) will take place at the Radisson Royal Moscow Hotel through 26-28Aug. During the airshow Russian Helicopters will be holding presentations, conferences and round table talks on current topics at the C3 pavillion's conference hall.
MAKS 2013 is held under the patronage of the President of Russia. The airshow organiser is The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and Rostec State Corporation is the general partner. The general sponsor is Rosoboronexport.
