OREANDA-NEWS. August 05, 2013. Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov has held a meeting with Secretary General of the International Exhibitions Bureau Vicente Gonzalez Loscertales at Ukimet Uyi. During the meeting they discussed issues of organizing and holding EXPO 2017 in Astana, Kazakhstan's cooperation with the BIE.

According to Akhmetov, the preparation for EXPO 2017 is under special control of the President.

"The State Commission approved the National Plan of organization and holding EXPO 2017, the implementation of which is tightly controlled," Serik Akhmetov noted.

The Prime Minister assured that Kazakhstan will make every effort to conduct EXPO 2017 at the highest level, which will showcase the best of "know-how", "breakthrough" and promising projects in the field of alternative and renewable energy.

"Today, we have already started to study the registration dossier and make necessary adjustments. "The plan in content" is well thought out and solid. It reflects the vision of the President of Kazakhstan, outlined in the Strategy "Kazakhstan 2050"," Loscertales said.

Vicente Gonzalez Loscertales arrived in Kazakhstan for a working visit to check the progress of preparation of registration dossier and organization of EXPO 2017 in Astana.
