OREANDA-NEWS. August 05, 2013. The Supervisory Board of Sberbank has approved the nomination of Lev Khasis as First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank and Chief Operations Officer.

Lev Khasis will take office on September 1, 2013 once the appointment has been approved by the Moscow Main Territorial Department of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.

Lev Khasis has extensive experience in domestic and international business; he held a number of senior positions at Walmart Inc., the world's largest corporation in terms of revenue and scale of operations, since joining in September 2011.

Most recently Lev Khasis was President and CEO at Walmart International, prior to which he had worked as a Senior Vice President at Walmart International. Due to the new appointment Lev Khasis will leave Walmart Inc. on August, 30.

Before Walmart, Lev Khasis, was the CEO of X5 Retail Group for five years - the leading retail company in Russia, before which he held executive positions in a number of other large Russian companies and banks.
