OREANDA-NEWS. National Grid has shortlisted four fantastic charities, from a large number of applicants to go forward for selection to become its first charity partner.

The final decision now rests in the hands of National Grid employees to decide who the charity partner will be. The four charities that have made it through to the final round are:

St Basils: working with young people to prevent homelessness by providing accommodation and support services

Sue Ryder: providing incredible care for people and families affected by incurable illness via a network of hospices and care centres across the UK.

Prostate Cancer UK: supporting men and their families affected by prostate cancer, funding research and creating a real change for men

Macmillan: improving the lives of people affected by cancer by providing practical, medical and financial support

The chosen charity will be announced on 30th September 2013 and will receive ?25,000 in funding each year for two years in addition to being the focus of fundraising activities throughout the organisation. All of the shortlisted charities will receive a donation relating to the amount of votes they receive.
