Agricultural Sector Comes to Forefront Roles in Economy of Ukraine
OREANDA-NEWS. August 02, 2013. The agricultural sector should become the engine of economic growth in Ukraine and its export potential.
This was started by the First vice Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov during a trip to Bohonyky village of Vinnytsya region, where he together with the Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhnyuk examined the progress of the harvesting and the results of the activities of the Institute of feeds and Agricultural economy of Podolia of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine.
"Our country has always been glorious by coal, metal, and I am sure Ukraine will be glorious by agricultural sector even more. I am pleased with agricultural indicators that we now sow as we heard more answers than we had questions," Serhiy Arbuzov said.
It should be noted that Vinnytsya region is one of the key agricultural regions of Ukraine, as statistic says. Thus, the regional growth rate in this sector reached 37% at the time when nationwide is 15%.
"We should not forget that we now stand on the threshold of the creation of the FTA with the EU. This opens up tremendous new opportunities for the export of agricultural products. The potential increase in exports requires improving the technology in the agricultural sector," Serhiy Arbuzov stressed.
In turn, the Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhnyuk noted that Ukraine is a leader on growing many varieties of grain, and our companies successfully export their products to European markets. After all, they are permanent members of European organizations and associations.
And the introduction of new technologies in the agricultural sector should become the engine of efficiency that Ukraine would properly use. So, the First vice Prime Minister added, researches conducted by the Institute of feeds and Agricultural economy of Podolia of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine become more and more important for our country.
