OREANDA-NEWS. On 10-12 September 2013, Irkutsk, the capital city of Eastern Siberia will host an annual international event – “Russian Competition Day” organized by the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia).

Representatives of the Government of the Russian Federation, regional authorities, business community, the heads and senior executives of foreign competition authorities, international organizations as well as representatives of the central FAS Office and regional FAS offices will take part in the events of “Russian Competition Day”.

The focus of the Programme is the Plenary session on “International Investigations: New Opportunities of the Global Integration” and the session of ICAP – the Antimonopoly Council which celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2013.

The “Competition Day” will also include an extended session of FAS Collegium, a session of an International Working Group on Pharmaceuticals and the Headquarters for Joint Investigations of Antimonopoly Violations in the CIS Member-States, the Round Table on “Cooperation of Competition Authorities: Exchange of Information”, and a press-conference of the Head of FAS Igor Artemiev.

The Interstate Council on Antimonopoly Policy (ICAP) is the main platform for cooperation between the antimonopoly authorities of the CIS member-states. The range of issues discussed by ICAP is constantly expanding, covering all areas of work of the competition authorities in the CIS member-states. In the future, cooperation within the CIS can form the basis for developing a system of supranational regulation of competitive relations on the cross-border markets within the CIS space and become an analogue of the European model for regulating such relations.
