Poliom Plant Produced 50-Thousandth Tonne of Polypropylene
OREANDA-NEWS. July 31, 2013. Omsk polypropylene plant with capacity of 180.000 tons/ year has reached a significant milestone of product release.
"Poliom" plant, which is part of “PARK” project petrochemical cluster, in the beginning of May, 2013 began working with the stated capacity of 22.5 tons of polypropylene per hour, and a total production output of product is 50.000 tons by now.
Polypropylene received in the enterprise meets specifications for basic parameters, such as grain composition, melt flow rate, modulus of elasticity in flexure, mass fraction of volatile substances, mass fraction of ash, tensile yield strength, relative elongation, and others. One of the biggest advantages of Omsk polypropylene production technology is its environmental friendliness. High-grade polymers are received through closed-loop cycle. Solvents and reaction by-products are absent during production process, there is modern purification system used including dust and gas catchers.
There are Russian and foreign refiners of raw materials amongst Omsk polypropylene consumers. The plant dispatches about 600-700 tons of material every day.
In February 2013 the company received the first 500 tons of polypropylene through the full production cycle, starting serial production of modern high-quality polymer. The official opening of the Omsk polypropylene plant took place April 25th, 2013.
Information:
Omsk polypropylene plant is a Russian company that can produce about 100 grades of polypropylene. The production process is based on Spheripol procedure developed by LyondellBasell Industries (Netherlands).
The project was implemented as a public-private partnership with an involvement of the State Corporation "Bank of Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank)".
